Sheldrake Environmental Center

Sheldrake Environmental Center's environmental education programs enhance the science curriculums of schools in our community. With trained environmental educators as their guide, students learn about the natural world by visiting any one of three local sites and discussing the event in class with a Sheldrake naturalist.

The Center is situated in the James G. Johnson, Jr. Conservancy, a 60-acre oasis of land and water that provides a sanctuary for wildlife and people. Birdwatchers, hikers, dog walkers, families and friends stroll or hike through the bucolic landscape on trails that follow the Sheldrake River as it winds through woods to the Larchmont Reservoir.

The trails are open every day from dawn until dusk.

Summer Camp and other classes are available
